I have been enamored by the art of photography since my parents bought me my first camera at the age of 10. It seemed almost impossible to my undeveloped brain that I could capture moments with this machine and get them printed on paper. Now, as an adult with a (mostly) developed brain I still struggle to comprehend the magic of the entire process. This must be why I find the gravity of shooting film too difficult to escape. I’m obsessed with it.

Film? Really?

I honestly couldn’t care less about arguing in favor of film over digital or vice versa. The short answer of why I shoot film is the simple fact that it makes me care deeper for my images. The entire process is much more intimate. Loading the film, choosing the images carefully, developing the film in my kitchen, scanning the negatives, and finally holding a print in my hands.
